This Power BI course is designed to guide learners through the process of understanding, analyzing, and visually representing data using Microsoft Power BI. From sourcing and modeling data to creating impactful reports and dashboards, this course covers it all. Participants will gain hands-on experience with the Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, learning to connect to data sources, model their data, and build interactive reports and dashboards that can be shared with stakeholders. By the end of the course, learners will have the skills to turn data into insightful visualizations and make data-driven decisions.

1: Introduction to Power BI

  • Overview of Power BI (Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power BI Mobile)
  • Setting up the Power BI environment
  • Basic concepts and terminology

2: Getting Data

  • Connecting to various data sources (Excel, databases, web)
  • Data importing vs. direct query
  • Data transformation and cleaning using Power Query

3: Data Modeling

  • Introduction to data modeling and relationships
  • Creating and managing tables, columns, and measures
  • Using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for basic calculations

4: Data Visualization

  • Overview of visualization types and best practices
  • Creating charts, graphs, and maps
  • Custom visuals and formatting options

5: Advanced Analysis Techniques

  • Time intelligence functions
  • Advanced DAX calculations and measures
  • Conditional formatting and dynamic visuals

6: Creating Dashboards

  • Designing interactive reports and dashboards
  • Using slicers, filters, and drill-throughs for interactive analysis
  • Best practices for dashboard design and usability

7: Power BI Service

  • Publishing reports and dashboards to Power BI Service
  • Scheduling data refresh and managing data gateways
  • Collaborating and sharing within Power BI Service

8: Advanced Power BI Features

  • Introduction to Power BI apps and workspaces
  • Row-level security
  • Using Power BI with Excel and other Microsoft tools

9: Power BI in Practice

  • Real-world case studies and examples
  • Tips for effective storytelling with data
  • Review of common mistakes and how to avoid them

Before you apply for registration, please make sure that you are meeting any one of the below-mentioned criteria of eligibility:

  • Graduate or 14 years of Education or
  • 12 years of Education with 02 years of experience in the relevant field

 

Please note that the Target Audience for this course includes the following:

  • Marketing professionals seeking to deepen their digital skills
  • Students with Basic computer literacy and internet navigation skills
  • No prior marketing experience is required, although a basic understanding of marketing principles is beneficial

Flexible options to learn and prepare yourself for the course. Candidate may attend the Instructor-Led program by ICMP in a live classroom or a virtual classroom as per its availability and also have the option of Self-study from the recommended study material by ICMP.

Assessment will be based on quizzes, module-end projects, and the capstone project. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
